The Mustard Seed

by Ruben Rodriguez Ferreira

“A tender, beautifully illustrated reminder that the smallest seed of faith, carefully tended and freely shared, can grow into something extraordinary.”

“The Mustard Seed” by Ruben Rodriguez Ferreira is a fresh retelling of Jesus’ Parable of the Mustard Seed, written for children of all ages. The story follows a precious, tiny seed and shows how patient tending and care can turn it into a great source of sustenance, one that multiplies when it is shared. The richly colored illustrations add texture to the mood of the story, and each image grows right along with the seed. As the seed changes through careful, focused attention, the world around it becomes fuller and more vibrant, giving young readers something new to notice with every page turn. While the story is biblically inspired, its message is universal: plant the seeds of the word, and share them with others. Its quiet lesson, that great things often begin in small, unnoticed places, opens the door to meaningful conversations about faith and generosity with little ones. A gentle call to prayer and free downloadable activities extend the learning beyond the final page, making this a natural fit for family reading time, Sunday school, or the classroom.

Part of the One Flock parable series, “The Mustard Seed” is a lovely way to introduce young hearts to the parables.
