FOLLOW KELLY:
Kelly has had a great passion for writing and storytelling since the 3rd grade and began getting in touch with her passion for writing at a young age.
When she entered college at the young age of 19, she became heavily engrossed in books written by Kristin Hannah and that’s when she knew she wanted to be a novelist.
During her final years at the university, Kelly decided she wanted to travel the world, making her first trip to France and Spain in 2012. That trip abroad changed her life, and she knew her writing would take her around the world.
Just several months after coming home from her trip to Europe, she decided she would join the Peace Corps so she could travel and be of service to others. 17 months after applying, she flew to China where she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer teaching Oral English to high school students for two years.
When she came home, Kelly published her first book and helpful hand guide, “It Depends: A Guide to Peace Corps,” which was released in 2017. Today, Kelly is a travel writer, piloting her own blog, Travel Branyik, where she focuses on her favorite place in the world, Colorado. She is working on two other books that will be released in the years to come.
Before moving to the mountains, Kelly worked for a small ad agency in Colorado Springs where she learned valuable skills in the areas of marketing that greatly benefit her position with Write With Light Publications, LLC.
Kelly received her BA in English (Creative Writing) from Colorado State University-Pueblo in 2013. She has extensive writing experience with publications like The Colorado Springs Gazette Pikes Peak Editions, The Pueblo PULP, Colorado Fun Guide, and PRO Motion Music News. She currently writes for Elephant Journal where she publishes mindfully written articles regularly.
She is a Returned Peace Corps China Volunteer (2014-2016). She is English and Chinese bilingual. She enjoys reading, writing, singing, exercising, and being outside. She currently resides in central Colorado.
